Employment model

Paramedics are usually ARRS funded, working across several sites in a PCN e.g. limited sessions a week at each practice to see same day minor illness.

Qualifications

Paramedics may have limited or no additional qualifications (but may be planning on working towards them).

Not usually prescribers.

Remit

Paramedics in low integration sites carry out more home visits than in medium and high integration sites. Because of this, the unit costs of a consultation in low integration sites tend to be higher.
