Many patients would prefer to see a GP rather than a paramedic for ‘serious’ conditions.

Paramedic working in this model need to be appropriately qualified to manage complexity and this needs to be clearly communicated to patients.

Paramedics can do home visits which are time consuming for GPs but if the situation is complex, the GP may need to go anyway and this is inefficient (double handling).
